Useful links for bass players:
tools, plug-ins and resources

Tools and sites that bass players use every day, and that go well with UnitBasse: to work out songs, read and write scores, play over chord charts, shape your sound and learn.

Tools that go well with UnitBasse

• Transcribe! (Seventh String) : To work out a song by ear: slow the music down without changing its pitch, change the key, loop a passage. On Mac, Windows and Linux. Once the line is worked out, practice it in UnitBasse.
• iReal Pro : The best-known play-along app among musicians, with thousands of shared chord charts. BackTrack, in UnitBasse, imports iReal Pro charts.
• Guitar Pro (Arobas Music) : The reference tab editor for guitar, bass and other instruments. UnitBasse imports Guitar Pro files.
• MuseScore : Free music notation software, on Mac, Windows and Linux. It exports MusicXML, a format UnitBasse imports.
• Soundslice : “Living” sheet music and tab online, synced with the recording.

Plug-ins tested in the UnitBasse amp

• GENOME (Two notes) : Tested and working in the UnitBasse amp.
• Guitar Rig 7 (Native Instruments) : Guitar Rig 7 FX, tested and working.
• AmpliTube 5 (IK Multimedia) : Works after copying a few files, explained in the plug-in FAQ.
• Ozone 11 (iZotope) : Tested and working.
• Tonelib-BassDrive : Tested and working.

UnitBasse loads the Audio Unit plug-ins you already own; it does not include any. To install them and handle special cases: the plug-in FAQ.

Learning bass

• StudyBass : Free online bass lessons, organised as a step-by-step study guide, with explanations, exercises and quizzes.

• Audiofanzine : The announcement of version 2.0 (October 2026, in French).
